A day of anxiety!

On my worst days with anxiety I try to find things that help me with overcoming the day. I made of a list of some of the things I do as a mom, when I have my daughter or when I don't. I hope you can find something in these lists to help you on those overwhelming days.

When I have my daughter Emma

  • Go outside Let your feet touch the earth momma. Ground yourself connecting to nature. Let your little one run and play. Smell the fresh air, and in that moment really unplug yourself and connect with nature.

  • Bake cookies together Let your little one lay cookies on a cookie sheet and take pride in knowing that he or she helped make something they're about to eat. I find my little girl eats better whenever I let her help me cook. She takes pride in helping and enjoys eating the food she helped prepare.

  • Clean together Listen anytime the space around me feels cluttered. My mind feels cluttered. I let my little girl go to town with a swiffer duster. She beats the paint off my walls dusting. She loves going from room to room helping. Or give them a dry rag and as you spray cleaner let them help you wipe surfaces down.

  • Screen time (Yes a tablet or ipad) If giving your child screen time means you get a moment of peace, do it. Don't feel guilty for it. It doesnt have to be all day, or even an hour. Just something for you to be able to catch a breath and clear your head.

When my Daughter is gone

  • Run myself a bath A warm bubble bath always clears my mind. I like adding bath salts, or using homemade oatmeal pouches to soften my skin.

  • But yourself some Flowers Sometimes I treat myself with a small thing of flowers to show my own self appreciation. Showing myself love, helps me love others better whenever I'm loving myself first.

  • Read a book Unplugging myself from everything and diving into a self-help book really helps clear my mind. I focus on only the text of the book for atleast 10 minutes and regulate my breathing while doing so.

  • Yoga and Meditation I honestly have no idea what I'm doing whenever it comes to yoga or meditation. Getting my body moving though helps me with trying to be present with the moment and grounding myself. There are plenty of guided youtube videos for both yoga and meditation that can help you. Or you can be like me and just lay your mat in the floor rolling your body around like a fish out of water to get a nice stretch. lol
